Restaurant & food were excellent. There was unfortunately only one member of staff on duty for the bar & the restaurant but he worked his socks off and we did not have any particularly extended waits. Food was delicious & we all enjoyed what we ordered.

Warm atmosphere, excellent food and service a very good experience in an old world pub a lovely roaring fire welcoming you as you enter Recommend you go thereValerie
9/10. Lovely pub. Although it was busy we received our food quickly. Fantastic service. Only downside was The lasagne was slightly burnt and they offered coffee liqueur on the menu but weren’t able to offer it.
We went at lunch time as it was our 53rd anniversary and we wanted to drink. We have been to this pub for years but some of the managers have been a little bit off as has the service but this time we had a lovely time. No rushing with a perfect lunch. Our waitress was lovely and looked after us very well. We will always visit this pub as it is a lovely walk to it along the canal but we all want a pleasant time when we arrive and this filled the brief..
We enjoyed our visit but the staff were unable to keep up with the number of customers so there were long waits. Staff were nice and the food was nice too. The large teapot is not a good idea for single order pots of tea and the dessert dishes were too small for the contents in some cases .
